Shared Kitchen Membership

What does Urban Eats’ shared kitchen offer my business?

Quite a bit! Shared Kitchen Memberships at Urban Eats offer businesses access to our large, commercial kitchen and our extensive selection of equipment. Shared Kitchen Member businesses can sign up for the hours that work for them between 5am and 11pm, 7 days a week, with a plan that works for your business model.

Scheduling

Can I occasionally use the shared kitchen space for my business?

We have a certified commercial kitchen and you can gain access to the shared kitchen through our Shared Kitchen Memberships. Each business signs up for a plan based on its total number of kitchen hours per month. Our base plan is “Monthly 20”, which provides members shared kitchen access for 20 hours per month – or about 5 hours per week.

As a member, you have access to all amenities (equipment, space and other shared use) regardless of the number of hours on your monthly plan.

Do you allow daily or event rental in the kitchen?

We do not offer kitchen time for daily or walk-in customers at this time. The shortest commitment for a Shared Kitchen Membership is 20 hours/month for a minimum of 3 months, and you can learn more about it here.

What happens if I want more hours than I signed up for in my monthly plan?

That’s no problem at all! You can either pay the “overage” by the hours, ranging from $10/hour to $14/hour as explained in your Shared Kitchen Member Agreement. You can also elect to move up your monthly plan to the next tier. We offer monthly plans in multiples of 20, starting at 20 hours/month, i.e. 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 hours/month, etc.

Types of Businesses

Does Urban Eats accommodate delivery-only businesses?

Yes! We’d love to be your partner in our community-based “cloud kitchen” for your delivery-only food concept through our Shared Kitchen Memberships. You can operate your business from a defined monthly plan and use the shared kitchen, with Urban Eats collecting just 8% of your gross sales.

Can Urban Eats accommodate my food truck business?

Yes! We have plenty of onsite/off-street parking available, and we can surely accommodate your business indoors, too. Food truck businesses sign up for Shared Kitchen Memberships and our base plan requires a minimum of 20 kitchen hours per month. So, if you would use an average 5 hours of kitchen hours per week or more, Urban Eats is the place for your business!

Please note that Urban Eats cannot provide brown water or gray water disposal for food trucks.

Marketplace Membership

What does Urban Eats offer my customer-facing business?

A lot! Merchant Memberships at Urban Eats enable businesses to gain access to both our shared kitchen and our customer-facing retail spaces. Each Merchant Member has equal access to the shared kitchen, free indoor and outdoor signages, free initial menu board, and a state-of-the-art POS (Point of Sale) system with online ordering capacity for only $20 per month.

You can buy food from Urban Eats Marketplace’s merchants! Learn more about our merchants by using the MarketPlace dropdown menu and clicking on a business’ name. Is Urban Eats a café?

We used to be! For 12 years, Urban Eats was a café, and we are so grateful for our many loyal customers throughout our time as Urban Eats Café.

As of March 2020, we are now a food incubator, shared kitchen, and marketplace, helping food entrepreneurs grow their own businesses! Many of our Urban Eats members serve customers, so you can still buy food in the Urban Eats buildings! To learn more about our merchants, go to the MarketPlace tab on our website.
